At 3850, our School Resource Officer (SRO) program is dedicated to creating a secure, welcoming, and supportive atmosphere in schools. SROs are specially trained law enforcement professionals assigned to educational institutions to serve as safety experts, mentors, and community liaisons.

Role and Responsibilities of SROs

Safety and Security: Proactively prevent and respond to incidents that could threaten the well-being of students, staff, and visitors.
Law Enforcement: Investigate and address criminal activity on or near school property while respecting students’ rights and fostering a positive environment.
Mentorship and Education: Build trust with students through mentoring, educational programs on topics like bullying prevention, substance abuse, and internet safety.
Collaboration: Work closely with school administration, teachers, parents, and local law enforcement agencies to promote a culture of safety and respect.
Crisis Response: Serve as first responders during emergencies, including threats, natural disasters, or medical incidents.
